Timezone Affecting Diary Entry and Hair Photos (FIXED with update V1.0.1 released on 6th Jan 2013)

 

Issue Breakdown:

For GMT (-) timezones only (e.g USA and Canada)

1. – When you click on a date then select ‘Diary Entry’ the correct date is in fact selected.

– But when the actual ‘Diary Entry’ page loads, the display date is shown as yesterday’s date.

– If you then enter some text and click save, it will save correctly on the initial selected date.

So for example:

– On the ‘Diary Tab’ if you select 26th December 2012 and click ‘Diary Entry’

– ‘Diary Entry’ page loads up showing the date (wrongly) as 25th December 2012 (but this is cosmetic only and doesn’t affect your actual entry).

– Entering text and clicking save will then save the entry correctly for 26th December 2012 and put the appropriate dot correctly in the tile for 26th December 2012.

2. Also, when a photo is taken in GMT (-)  timezone, the blue marker dot will appear on the date the day after the photo was taken. Again, the photo date is correct but the dot just appears on the next day.

Your data is still being stored correctly so you don’t need to do anything or change the way you use the app. We’ve got a fix coming for this ASAP which will resolve the issues (hopefully the first week of January 2013) but we’ll keep you updated.

    I have a ZTE Android and it is saying this app is not available for my phone. What can I do with a paid subscription and my phone won’t allow it to upload?

    1. Hi Ruth! Based on the information you have provided, there are two possibilities: 1. The ZTE phone has an old version of Android which the app does not support or 2. You may be accessing the App Store from a country that doesn’t have access to paid apps.

      Do you think that one of these two possibilities apply to you? 🙂 Please let us know if they don’t apply to you and we will investigate further 🙂

        It says my “device isn’t compatible with this version.” Is there anything else I can do to use this? I really like using it!

        We apologise that your device is not compatible with the latest version of the Hair Journal app however, we will continue to investigate this issue.

  2. I ordered the hair journal pro and it will not open on my ipad

    1. Hello Shana,

      Thank you for downloading the Hair Journal app. We have investigated the issue you’ve been having when trying to launch the app on your iPad and we believe the issue is that your iPad may be low on memory. To resolve this please follow the steps below:
      1. Double tap the home button. This action will bring up all the apps running in the background that are using up your iPad’s memory
      2. Swipe up on each running app until all of them are closed
      3. Tap the Home button again
      4. Relaunch the Hair Journal app – it should work now 🙂

      Frequently closing all apps running in the background not only preserves your iPad’s memory but also helps improve its battery life 🙂
